Remove existing roof system and replace with 470 squares new fully-adhered EPDM roof system. Existing Construction: 1. Area A: Structurally sloped precast concrete deck (1/8"/ft.), two layers of 1" perlite insulation, 2.5" isocyanurate insulation, and a ballasted 45-mil EPDM membrane. 2. Areas B and C: Precast concrete deck, two layers of 1" perlite insulation, 2.5" isocyanurate insulation, and a ballasted 45-mil EPDM membrane. 3. Area D: Concrete tee deck, two layers of 1" perlite insulation, 2.5" isocyanurate insulation, and a ballasted 45-mil EPDM membrane. 4. Refer to Section 01 70 00 for information regarding examination of the existing construction. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Provide interior protection for the gym floor. Remove upon completion of the work in this area. 2. Remove existing materials to the deck on all areas. 3. Replace existing roof-related wood blocking slated for reuse if it contains more than 19 percent moisture, shows evidence of rotting, or is otherwise in a condition that provides an unsuitable substrate to receive new materials. Include 1,000 board feet of wood blocking replacement in the bid. 4. Exercise precautions to prevent damage to the membranes during construction (removal of existing and installation of new materials). Provide protection and a watertight and windresistant membrane condition at the end of each day's work and before the start of any form of precipitation. 5. Install two layers of 2" isocyanurate insulation and 1/2" insulation cover board in low rise foam adhesive. 6. Install a fully adhered 60-mil EPDM membrane and flashings. 7. Install aluminum sheet metal flashings at the details.
