Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 will be issuing a Request for Proposals for a General Construction Contractor to retrofit various doors with ADA Openers in the Recreational Therapy Building 530 located at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, Palo Alto Division, in Palo Alto, CA. Work shall include, but not limited to the following: All necessary labor, material, supervision and transportation necessary to add ADA door pushpaddles with automated door closers to existing doors. In order to make Building 530 more wheelchair accessible for Veterans. The Contractor shall appoint a consultant accredited by the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association of Door Hardware Specialists to provide designs and submittals for compliance to UL fire ratings to all doors. Additionally, the contractor shall retrofit work to selected doors within the Rec Therapy building 530 at Palo Alto VA, Miranda Avenue Ca. The existing wood and aluminum doors listed in the solicitation documents are to be modified to add ADA pushpaddles PIV readers and automated door closers in varying site locations. All work shall comply with current ADA standards applicable ABAAS to VA Facilities. The duration of this project is 60 calendar days for all ADA door push paddle installation after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued. This request for proposals will be a total Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Offers will only be accepted from qualified VIP Verified and SAM registered Small Businesses. The solicitation will contain all necessary proposal instructions. Estimated project cost is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00.
