The bridge work to be done, in general, includes constructing a new bridge and road approaches; removing an existing bridge; grading; paving; applying signing and striping, erosion control, cast-in-drilled hole piles, and other items and details, not mentioned above, that are required by the plans, specifications or these Special Provisions for the bridge listed below. All questions concerning this project shall be submitted online .Placer County makes no assurances that questions received within five (5) days of the bid opening date will be answered. County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids. The submittal of the DBE forms provided in the bid book is essential to the overall success of this project and is required by the Federal laws providing funding. It is important these forms and documents are accurately and completely filled out with responses to all questions in regards to DBE's; reference to attachments and exhibits should be clearly referred to and displayed. If there are any questions or concerns regarding the information requested in these forms please submit questions online via Public Purchase or visit our website for additional information and guidance. When completing the required information it is helpful to have the forms typed or clearly printed. The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class A contractor's license, or a combination of the following classes: C-8 Concrete Contractor, C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractor, C-13 Fencing Contractor, C-31 Construction Zone Traffic Control Contractor; C-32 Parking and Highway Improvement Contractor, C-50 Reinforcing Steel Contractor, C-60 Welding Contractor, C-61 Limited Specialty, D-6 Concrete-Related Services Contractor, D-30 Pile Driving and Pressure Foundation Jacking Contractor, D-42 Non-Electrical Sign Installation, D-49 Tree Service Contractor, D-56 Trenching Only Contractor, D-59 Hydroseed Spraying Contractor, D-63 Construction Cleanup Contractor, D-64 Non-specialized Contractor, and all other classes required by the categories and types of work included in this contract at the time of the bid award. The Contractor shall be properly licensed from contract award through Contract
acceptance. Bid Bonds will be required for this project. The successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond and certificates of liability and property damage insurance. The amounts of liability and property damage insurance shall not be less than the amounts shown in the (Sample Contract provided in Book 1 of 3) and shall include an Additional Insured Endorsement to the Contractor's liability insurance policy naming Placer County, its officers, agents, and employees as additional insured.
