Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in San Pedro, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Engineering Estimate: $23,500,000 - $26,500,000 The Project consists of 1.9 acre, 30-foot wide public promenade and 4 acre town square. Work includes but is not limited to landscaping, hardscaping, signage, architectural finishes, handrails, lighting, and public seating. Scope includes items such as demolition, new floating dock and gangway, installation of new piles, structural improvements, hardscaping, landscaping, utilities, grading, roadway intersection, overlooks, balconies, and other site improvements in accordance with Drawing Nos. 1-3190 and 1-3191 Please note that this project will include requirements mandated by the Port of Los Angeles Small Business Development Program aimed at increasing participation of small businesses and very small businesses in construction contracts, and changes to the General Conditions, as well as other sections of the Specifications. At time of bid, the SBE and VSBE participation levels shall be based on the percentage of total contract amount (including the Allowance Items) to be paid to SBE and VSBE subcontractors and suppliers. Therefore, bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid conference to receive information about the Program. In order to ensure the highest participation of SBENSBE/MBENVBE/DVBEs, all bidders shall utilize the City's contracts management and opportunities database, the Los Angeles Business Assistance Virtual Network (LABAVN), at online, to outreach to potential subcontractors. All questions are to be submitted on the website discussed above. Questions submitted less than two working days before bid opening may or may not be answered as time permits. Responses to questions will be posted on the Port website, as discussed above, which will be the only means used to communicate with Bidders other than by addendum. The Port assumes no liability for bidder failure to attend the pre-bid conference or to review the website to obtain responses to bidder questions.
