El Monte Union High School District invites and will receive sealed bids for the award of a contract for Bid No. 2018-19(B10), HVAC Replacement Districtwide (Group C) The DISTRICT reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. NOTES: Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 20111.6, General Contractors are required to have a valid A and/ or B License. Mechanical Contractors must possess one of the following licenses: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46. By executing this bid solicitation, the Contractor hereby certifies that: (a) it is duly licensed, in the necessary class(es), for performing the required Work; (b) such license shall be in full force and effect throughout the duration of the performance of the Work; and, (c) all Subcontractors providing or performing any portion of the Work shall be so similarly and appropriately licensed to perform or provide such portion of the Work. Pursuant to SB 854, Contractors are required to register with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) prior to bidding on public agency projects under the following conditions: Public Works Projects > $25,000; Maintenance Projects > $15,000. Evidence of DIR registration must be included at time of bid submission. This is a prevailing wage project. The Districts Project Engineer is PacificWest Energy Solutions The Districts Construction Manager is Erickson-Hall Construction Co. The contemplated bid includes but is not limited to the replacement of HVAC equipment (Group C) at various locations in the District. Bids received after the deadline date and time will be rejected and returned unopened. Prospective Bidders should allow at least two (2) hours for Pre- Bid Conference/Site Walk. Bidders must sign-in as a condition for submitting a bid. Bidders must attend job walk for all three (3) locations in the order indicated. Bidders who arrive after 9:00a.m., will not be allowed to sign-in. Bidders who fail to sign-in shall be deemed absent and shall not be entitled to submit a Bid. Bids must be accompanied by a bidders bond, cashiers check or certified check (hereinafter, the Bid Security) for Ten Percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. The bidders bond or certified check shall be made payable to the El Monte Union High School District and shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if a contract is awarded to the bidder, and will be declared forfeited, paid to, or retained by the DISTRICT as liquidated damages if the bidder refuses or neglects to enter into a contract on the terms of the accepted proposal within fourteen (14) calendar days after bidder's notification of DISTRICTs acceptance of the proposal. No bidder may withdraw any bid for a period of SIXTY (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be made on the forms prepared by the DISTRICT.
