The purpose of this project is to design and construct electrical system upgrades to replace the existing systems in the preliminary treatment facility due to updated design standards. This project will replace electrical equipment in facility that is over 30 years old and is nearing the end of its useful service life; and replace all building lighting with light emitting diode (LED) technology to save energy. The project scope includes upgrades to the Influent Wet Well Area, Influent Operating Area, Low Level Pump Drive Area, Ramp Area, High Level Pump Drive Area and Screenings Area. The total project cost was updated in February 2020 by Commission Action 20-015-2. There is no change in total project cost. The project may result in decreased energy costs to the operating budget once the new, more efficient lights are installed. As of November 5, 2021, this project is included in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District FY 2021-2025 CIP and currently under construction. The design firm information was not disclosed.
