Site work and paving for a road / highway in Platte City, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The proposed work includes, but is not limited to: Furnishing all equipment, labor, materials and other associated costs involved with placingmicro surfacing and pavementmarkingon Interurban Road from the intersection with Pleasant Grove Road and moving north approximately 4.25 miles to the southern City Limit of Dearborn, MO. Construction of work shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in the bid proposal. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the "Work Hours Act of 1962," (P.L. 87-581; 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. By virtue of statutory authority, preference shall be given to materials, products, supplies, provisions and other articles, produced, manufactured, made or grown within the State of Missouri, where same are of a suitable character and can be obtained at reasonable market prices in the State and are a quality suited to the purpose intended and can be secured without additional cost over foreign products or other states. "The County of Platte hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bidsin response to thisinvitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex, age, ancestry or national origin in consideration for an award". Sealed bids must be on forms provided. Completed bids are only accepted by the Platte County Clerk. "missourilaw, 292.675rsmo,requires the awarded contractor and its subcontractor(s) to provide a ten-hour occupational safety and health administration (osha) construction safety program (or a similar program approved by the missouri department of labor and industrial relations as a qualified substitute) for their on-site employees (laborers, workmen, drivers, equipment operators, and craftsmen) who have not previously completed such a program and are directlyengaged inactualconstruction of the improvement (or working at a nearby or adjacent facility used for construction of the improvement). The awarded contractor and its subcontractor(s) shall require all such employees to complete this ten-hour program, pursuant to 292.675 rsmo, unless they hold documentation on their prior completion of said program. Penalties for non-compliance include contractor forfeiture to platte county in the amount of $2,500, plus $100 per contractor and subcontractor employee for each calendar daysuch employee is employed beyond the elapsed time period for required program completion under 292.675 rsmo." Proposals must be on forms provided. A certified or cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of 10% shall be submitted with each proposal. The Platte County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids. A DBEGoal has not been established for this project,but the contractors are encouraged to seek DBE participation. No second tier subcontracting will be allowed in this project. The project will be awarded to the lowest, most responsive responsible bidder.
