Site work for a water / sewer project in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The objective of the project provide contingency-based as-needed replacement of sections of existing sewer pipelines on short notice at locations to be determined within the City and County of San Francisco. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 8.00% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division). SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 8.00% LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement. The LBE participation requirement is 8% due to the variability of actual work scopes for each contract service order and the average of the closeout LBE participation percentage of the last six spot sewer contracts. Subcontracting opportunities may include, but not limited, to the following major types of work: saw cutting, paving, excavation, traffic control and concrete. The work will take place at various locations in the City and County of San Francisco. It consists of performing the following, but not limited to, traffic control work, mobilization and demobilization work, trench and excavation support work; constructing cast-in-place or pre-cast concrete manholes for pipe sizes 12-inch to 24-inch in diameter and pipe sizes 27-inch to 48-inch in diameter, catch basins with frame and grating and 6-inch or 8-inch diameter side sewer connections; repair, replacement or construction of 6-inch or 8-inch diameter vitrified clay pipe (VCP) side sewers; televising existing and newly constructed 6- inch or 8-inch diameter side sewers or 10-inch diameter culverts from the main sewer, structures or side sewer air vents and 8-inch to 48-inch diameter main sewers; providing walk through television inspection of main sewer larger than 48-inch in diameter; constructing sections of main sewers in the following sizes: 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, 15-inch, 18-inch, 21-inch, 24-inch and 36-inch diameter VCP on crushed rock bedding and 10-inch diameter VCP culvert; lining 6-inch or 8-inch diameter side sewers with UV Cured Liner and 12-inch, 15-inch and 18- inch diameter main sewers with CIPP Liner; construction of 6-inch or 8-inch nominal diameter high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) for side sewers and 12- inch nominal diameter HDPE for main sewer by trenchless pipe-bursting installation method; backfilling the existing voids underneath the pavement with import backfill material; pavement restoration inside and outside the sewer trench limits with 2-inch thick asphalt concrete wearing surface; reconstructing pavement outside sewer trench limit with 8-inch thick concrete base, concrete parking strip, and concrete pavement per Excavation Regulations; internally reinstate side sewers in lined main sewers; removing protruding side sewers by internal reaming with minimum 1-inch thick of CAC coating system; providing side sewer diversion for mortaring work; mortaring existing 3'x5' brick sewer, large reinforced concrete sewer or existing 3'x5' manhole or risers; installation of temporary & permanent tape pavement markings; plugging and filling existing sewer with slurry grout; performing work necessary due to unforeseen conditions related to sewer work; providing uniformed San Francisco off-duty police officers for traffic control; supporting, working around and protecting certain existing San Francisco Water Department facilities located within the sewer trench; supporting, working around and protecting other existing utility agency and company facilities in conjunction with the work under this contract and all appurtenant work required in accordance with the Contract Documents and in accordance with the San Francisco DPW Standard Specifications dated November 2000.
