The provisions of Minn. Stat. 16C.285 Responsible Contractor are imposed as a requirement of this contract. All bidders and persons or companies providing a response/submission to the Advertisement for Bids/RFP of the City shall comply with the provisions of the statute. All bids shall be sealed and marked 2019 Water main Improvements, and shall be accompanied by a cashiers check, bid bond or certified check, payable to the City of Prior Lake for five percent (5%) of the amount of the Base Bid, to be forfeited as damages in the event that the bid is accepted and the bidder shall fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required bond. Plans and specifications are anticipated to be available for download by the end of day on 2/13/19. Each bid and all papers bound and attached thereto, together with the bid guarantee, shall be placed in an envelope and securely sealed therein. The envelope shall be so marked as to indicate the name of bidder and the project name and shall be addressed to the City of Prior Lake, 4646 Dakota Street SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. It may be mailed, delivered by messenger, or submitted in person. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities, and further reserves the right to award the contract in the best interest of the City.
