Site work and new construction of a clubhouse / community center in New London, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a 57,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center; and for site work for a clubhouse / community center.
As of July 5, 2023, this project is in the final planning stages with construction expected to commence mid-July 2023. A construction manager has been selected. Downes Construction Company, LLC is the Construction Manager on behalf of the City of New London for the construction of the new 57,000 square foot Community Recreational Center located on 1 Recreation Way New London, CT. Downes is soliciting qualified subcontractors for various trade packages. This project has a Project Labor Agreement. Bidding with Construction will commence in the Fall of 2022. All prospective bidders are to contact Downes Construction at bids@downesco.com or Scott Scholl & Kyle Lentini at 860-229-3755 for bidding instructions. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Downes Construction Company, LLC is an affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
