The 2019 Carroll Streets Resurfacing project includes segments along Crawford Street, First Street, Bluff Street, East Street, West Street, and the Water Pumping Station parking lot. Specific improvement items include full-depth patching, curb replacement, driveway replacement, pedestrian curb ramps, minor storm sewer improvements, pavement milling / scarification, hot mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing, and seeding, mulching and fertilizing. Consideration by City council at its meeting on march 26,2019 at 5.15 pm. The city of carroll, Iowa reserves right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of bid and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each bidder shall accompany its bid security for performance bond of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of contract. The city of carroll, Iowa hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive in-formalities and to enter into such contract, or contracts,as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the jurisdiction. The contractor shall fully complete seeding no later than September 30, 2019; and shall substantially complete the project no later than September 30, 2019. Should the contractor fail to complete the work in this time frame, liquidated damages of $1,000.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract term. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish à corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Carroll, Iowa and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Carroll, Iowa from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of four (4) years from and after acceptance of the contract.
