Renovation of a municipal facility in Monterey, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

work consists of, but is not limited to, making repairs to the heating and hot water system in the boiler rooms of POM buildings 831, 832, 836, 840, and 841. Buildings 840 and 841 are additive alternatives and may be awarded if funding is available. The work at each building except at Building 836 consists of disconnecting, removing, and recycling an existing steel domestic hot water tank with heat exchanger and replacing it with a new epoxy or glass lined steel hot water tank with new full depth four pass double walled heat exchanger and magnesium sacrificial anode. The new tank shall include all taps as shown on the plans in detail. The buildings potable hot water shall only be off line for one 8 hour period during construction. The water tank at building 836 is newer than the others, and shall not be replaced; however, all piping repairs, insulation and the installation of an expansion tank shall be completed and a new magnesium anode installed. All conditioned water piping associated or disturbed with this project shall be insulated. Existing domestic (potable and heating) hot water piping without insulation, or with damaged insulation, shall receive insulation patched for a fully insulated hot water piping system within the boundary of the mechanical rooms.License Type Required:Class B, Class C-4 or C-36;Liquidated Damages: $1,200.00 Per Work Day Cash, a certified check or cashier's check, payable to the order of the City of Monterey, or a satisfactory bid bond, in original form (no fax or photocopy shall be accepted), executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid.Engineer's Estimated Cost:$0 to $600,000 No Bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days from the date of opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the contract.The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids as the best interests of the City may dictate and, to the extent permitted by law, waive any irregularity in any bid. If there is any reason for believing that collusion exists among the bidders, the City may reject any or all bids
