Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Baker, Louisiana. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.
The project will develop a transit center / park and ride facility with complimentary, transit-supportive development on property located at 14820 Plank Road, Baker, Louisiana. As part of the ongoing efforts to improve mobility in the Capital Region, the subject property has been identified as a potential location for a transit center/park and ride facility. Such a facility would serve as a transfer point between bus lines, a layover area for bus operators, and have adequate parking for park and ride, carpool, and vanpool commuters. Transit-supportive development is also envisioned at this location, which would integrate with, and complement the transit facility. As of April 30, 2019, an architect has been selected develop a preliminary design, however, another solicitation will likely be issued to select a designer for the construction documents.
