Work covered by the contract documents consists of constructing varying lengths of 6" DIP Water Main and renewing water services. Contractor to connect new 6" DIP Water Mains to existing 6' Water Mains, renew water services and abandon existing 2" Water Main. As described in the advertisement for bids itemized in the proposal and illustrated on the plans. The Construction shall be completed in the time frame as outlined in the Contract Documents, and an allowance shall be made for delays associated with adverse weather conditions. All items will be paid at the unit price as bid, if items are not installed or required, no payment will be made for these items. Work called for by these specifications consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and appurtenances required to perform all operations in connections with the following: Connect New 6" DIP Water Main to Existing 6" Water Mains by means of removal of existing fire hydrant legs, tee installation and connect new fire hydrants. Construct New 6" DIP Water Mains of varying lengths. Renew existing short and long water services. Plug and abandon existing 2" Water Main. Installation of Flowable Fill within the trench areas as noted in the plans. Resurfacing of trench areas within existing asphalt pavement driveway areas. Landscape and driveway (Asphalt/Concrete) repairs/replacements. Install Line Stops if needed on existing 2" Water Main Plug 2" Water Main where it connects to Existing 6" Water Main Questions Deadline: 3/4/2019 12:00 PM (ET) Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The City of Columbia Local Business Enterprise (LBE) policy applies to this solicitation. You do not have to be a LBE in order to submit a bid for this project. Under the LBE policy, if the lowest responsive and responsible bidder is not a certified LBE and a certified LBE is within 5% of the lowest bid (up to a maximum dollar value not to exceed $500,000), the certified LBE then has the opportunity to accept the project at the lowest bidder's price. The certified LBE must be from the 8 county Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined in the City of Columbia's LBE policy and must also be registered with the City of Columbia's Compliance Office as a certified LBE before the bid is submitted. All Bidders must provide a copy of their Contractor's License with their bid and shall have the required classification for the scope of the work.
