This project is for the Full Depth Reconstruction of portions of Quarry Rd. and Creamery Rd., installation of a perforated pipe underdrain and roadside drainage swale along a portion of Creamery Rd., for milling and overlay of several roadways throughout the Township, and for ADA handicap ramp improvements. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Township of Lower Makefield, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each Bid. Bonds are to be issued by a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for Satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond and Labor and Materialmens Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Bidders are required to comply with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of 1961, P.L. 987, No. 442, where the estimated cost of the total project is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). The Township of Lower Makefield reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding when, in the opinion of the Township, such rejections or waivers shall be to its interest or advantage. Prior to awarding the contract, bids may be held by the Township for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid openings for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders.
