ALCOSAN encourages businesses owned and operated by minorities and women to submit bids on Authority Contracts or to participate as subcontractors or suppliers to successful Bidders. Successful Bidders are to use minority and women's businesses to the fullest extent possible. Bid Security shall be furnished by providing with the Bid a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Bid Price. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid and to accept any bid should it be deemed in the interest of the Authority to do so. The undersigned Bidder certifies that they have read and understand the Information for Bidders Section entitled "Minority and Women's Business Enterprise and Labor Surplus Area Policy," and further understand and agree to the minority participation goal applicable to this Contract, and shall strive to expend from ten to twenty-five percent (10-25%) of the total cost of the Contract for minority and women's business enterprise participation. The following scope of work applies to this Contract. 1. The work shall include but not be limited to the following: a. Mobilize to the site and conduct size and verification measurements to prepare shop drawings and procure required materials. b. For each site, install safety rails, tie off anchor points, handholds and other appurtenances as shown on drawings. c. In conjunction with the manufacturer, prepare shop drawings for submittal to the OWNER. d. Construct coffer dams and perform bypass pumping as necessary for progression of the work. e. Remove and properly dispose of all debris associated with the demolition and construction. Remove and properly dispose of all designated rails, anchors, and other appurtenances. f. Repair and seal concrete in designated structures. g. Provide Manufacturer Services for the installation and certification of Protective Epoxy Polymer Lining System for Concrete Wastewater Structures. It is expected that each of the four structures will have two site visits by the Manufacturer’s Representative, approximately half a work day in length each. One of these visits will be to verify that the surface is properly prepared and the structure is ready for application and the second is to verify that the finished application meets the Manufacturer’s requirements. Two additional visits are to be included for the Manufacturer’s Representative to help with initial set up or any issues that may arise. h. Maintain constant sewage flow. 2. Contractor shall perform all other work related to the items listed above to provide a complete and functional system and restored project site.
