The furnishing of and application of the special coating system required to repaint surfaces of the 750,000 gallon elevated water tower located in White Bear Township.Additional work includes furnishing and installing valves and electrical lighting. WORK DESCRIPTION. The Work shall include furnishing labor and materials for the complete painting and rehabilitation of the Water Tower at Hammond Road. The work includes but is not limited to the following items: 1.01 A. Tower Painting - Hammond Road 1. The containment during surface preparation and painting to minimize the impact of the Project on the area. Either full containment or alternate blaster/method with less than 2% emission of dust. 2. The preparation of surfaces for painting. 3. The painting application of special coating systems for the exterior, interior, lettering, and logo. 4. The painting application of the pit piping. 5. The cleanup of the site and the disinfection of the interior of the tower after painting is complete. 6. The one-year warranty inspection of the tower to be conducted by the Contractor and attended by the Owner and Engineer, including any testing. 7.The repair of any deficiencies found in the coating systems during the warranty inspection. B. General Repairs and Rehabilitation at Water Tower - Hammond Road 1. The removal and replacement of tower screens if required. 2. Mud valve removal, inspection, cleaning, and reinstallation. 3. Altitude valve removal and replacement. 4. Removal of existing steps at tower entrance and replacement with concrete steps. 5. Addition of a concrete floor inside the tower. 6. Aerial light replacement. C. Northeast Water Tower 1. The surface preparation and painting application of the pit piping. 1.02 LOCATION. The work shall be located on the Owner's property, as shown.
