The North Country Road Complete Streets Enhancement Project's goal is to restore and enhance deficiencies to pedestrian and bicycle facilities; street aesthetics and beautification; transportation lines and overall safety along North Country Road. The Project Limits will be along North Country Road within the ROW limits only; from Honey Lane to Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School Entrance; then continuing again from Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School Entrance to Rolling Road. The project's scope entails the milling and resurfacing of pavement for North Country Road; construction of new ADA Compliant sidewalks; complete streets enhancements to provide safe access for all; dedication of bicycle lanes as well as on street parallel parking. The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject and declare invalid any or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, all in the best interests of the Town. The Town of Brookhaven welcomes and encourages minority and women-owned businesses and HUD Section 3 businesses to participate in the bidding process. The Contractor is advised that this project involves federal funding and is therefore subject to conformance with the NYSDOT's Procedures for Locally Administered Federal Aid Project Manual of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 41, Chapter 60, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO). The Contractor shall make good faith efforts to achieve the goals for minority (5.8%) and female (6.9%) participation. This contract has a 5% DBE participation goal.
