Description

Site work and paving for a road / highway in Lutselk'e, Northwest Territories. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Construction of a two-lane all-weather gravel road projected to be 413 kilometres long between Yellowknife and the Lupin gold mine on the N.W.T.-Nunavut boundary. The road will pass through known mineral deposit sites, as well as skirt established projects such as the territories diamond mines. TIMELINE: Environmental assessment for the Lockhart All season road project is ongoing. The application is being prepared for the GNWT to perform geotechnical investigations between Tibbitt Lake and Lockhart Lake. Construction on the JV Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road is complete. NEXT STEPS 2028: Report of EA and Responsible Ministers decisions. Construction is not anticipated to begin until 2029 or 2030.
