This project is a high-profile project for the Town of Collingwood. The new, state of the art water treatment plant expansion on the pristine shores of Georgian Bay is a monumental project for the Town of Collingwood. The expansion brings vast and sustainable residential, commercial and industrial expansion opportunities to the community, setting the stage for the next 25 years or more. It is assumed that Contractors will want to be part of this project. The Town of Collingwood is expanding its Raymond A. Barker water treatment plant (WTP) from a net capacity of 31 ML/d to a Phase 1 net capacity of 52 ML/d and an ultimate net capacity of 101 ML/d. Project description: - Shoreline remediation, pre-demolition and demolition activities. - New Membrane building: new wet well, screens, pumps, new membrane system, chemical system, electrical room, PLCs, administration facilities and more... - Chlorine chambers, Yard Piping, Sewage PS. - New Transformer and Electrical work. - New high lift PS extension, tank area, new electrical room. - Construction of the balance of the Work in Raw water Area. - Transfer UV equipment to the Membrane building. - Decommissioning and retrofit of many process and admin facilities. - Demolition generator building, and construction of new Fuel Storage area. - Raised grade, new parking lot, landscaping etc. - All other work in accordance with the Contract Documents. TIMELINE: A recent groundbreaking ceremony has taken place. The current estimated completion for the expansion project is 2029. *Contract award has not been released for publication, however the project has been estimated at 270 million.
