The work may be generally described as repairs to be performed at the 40-year-old elevated cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete elevated roadway that provides access to the airport terminal, temporary parking, and top level of the adjacent parking garage. The work generally involves concrete removal/replacement and rehabilitation as well as drainage enhancements, and removal and replacement of expansion joints and sealant joints at the elevated roadway. The work also involves rehabilitation to sidewalks adjacent to the fountain and within the tunnels at the ground level. Removal and replacement of the roofs, guardrails, and expansion joints as well as brick repairs and tuckpointing at the four (4) stair towers is also included within the work. Questions relating to the Contract and Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to Joseph W. Each bid shall be accompanied with a Bid Security equal to 5% of the total Bid in the form of a cash deposit or a Bid Bond. Contract Security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. No Bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of sixty (60) consecutive calendar days Bidders who notify Walker Consultant's in advance of the pre-bid meeting, a digital copy of the Bidding and Contract Documents will be forwarded. Each Bidder must be properly licensed under Chapter 87, General Statutes of North Carolina (G.S. 87-15). Each Bidder shall certify, by submission of a proposal, that neither it nor its principals is presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment, declared ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from participation in this transaction by any Federal department or agency or the State of North Carolina. The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
