The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed bids for furnishing labor, material and equipment required to complete the project in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and of the materials and to the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown and delineated upon the plans and specifications made therefore. The following information is presented to indicate the size of the project and no warrant is made or intended to final quantities: The project is to repair Fremont Avenue roadway surface, between Grant Road and the Stevens Creek Bridge within the City of Los Altos. Work includes, but is not limited to, mobilization, striping removal, 6" thick asphalt concrete pavement repairs (mill & plug), asphalt overlay on existing pavement, traffic control, miscellaneous re-striping and other items or details that are required by the contract Drawings and Specifications. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the City in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the City with a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the successful Bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California. The cost of said bonds shall be included in the Bid amount. The work shall be completed and ready for full use within 150 calendar days, the first day of which shall be the date specified in the City Engineer's "Notice to Proceed". The City reserves the right to cancel the project, and to reject any or all bids if not satisfied as to the price for the work or the responsibility of the bidder.
