Currently there are multiple small enclosures housing different auxiliary equipment for Gas Turbine #2 (GT2). The enclosures are outfitted with individual unit heaters to keep equipment from reaching freezing temperatures. There is also piping between the enclosures that are heat traced to keep from freezing. If one of the enclosure heaters malfunctions and the temperature drops below freezing, equipment will be damaged and require costly repairs or replacement. This unit is located at a remote site so keeping all of the individual heating systems maintained and constantly monitoring the climate status has proved to be a difficult task. In order to remove a majority of this risk, an insulated building will be erected to enclose this equipment and heating will be used to maintain a proper climate. The project was included in the city's 2019-2024 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
