The work includes earthwork and grading activities, placement of wet utilities including; sewer, storm drain and water, chemical treatment of soil, new curb, gutter, sidewalk, asphalt paving, striping and signage, landscaping and irrigation, SMUD Comcast, AT&T and PG&E dry utility joint trenching. The electrical work to be performed under these includes furnishing and installing a new signalized intersection at the New Market Drive and Via Ingoglia intersection and new street lighting along New Market Drive as indicated on the Plan sheets and these Special Provisions. Construction activities will be occurring concurrently within the North Natomas Community Center and Aquatic Complex (NNCCAC), located directly north of the New Market Drive Extension. Work to be coordinated with the NNCCAC General Contractor includes the stockpiling of excess soils generated from the New Market Drive Extension Project, utility stubs located behind the public right of way, erosion control and BMP measures, and ingress/egress from project sites. Bidding Contractors will be required to coordinate this work with NNCCAC General Contractor, Otto Construction. There is a 5% Local Business Enterprise (LBE) project participation requirement assigned to this project. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a non-responsive bid.
