RE: BID OPENING DEVOLA SEWER PHASE 2 Three sealed bids were received for the Devola Sanitary Sewer Improvements Phase 2 Project. Roger Wright, County Engineer, opened the bids and announced the results. Mr. Wright said it will take two to three weeks to fully review the bids and award the project. The bid tab is as follows: Bear Contracting $ 17,950,497.54 TAM Construction $ 14,689,987.00 RDR Utility Services Group $ 14,586,246.20 _______________________________________ Project consists of Construction of a new low-pressure sanitary sewer system to serve as Phase II within the Devola Service area. The system will serve approximately 560 properties with individual effluent only pump stations. The proposed sanitary sewer will tie into the existing Phase I gravity system at five locations. Existing septic tanks will be abandoned at each property. Project cost range is anticipated to be under $13,503,046. The project cannot be awarded if the bid exceeds the estimate by more than 10%. This procurement is subject to the EPA policy of encouraging the participation of small business in rural areas (SBRAs).
