Straits State Park is one of Michigan’s most popular state parks. Located in the Upper Peninsula, the park is nestled on the north side of the Mackinac Bridge and offers spectacular views of the bridge and the Straits of Mackinac from many vantage points. The park has a seasonal campground with modern toilet shower buildings and campsite utilities. There are 253 campsites total with 117 sites in the lower campground and 136 sites in the upper campground. The two existing toilet shower buildings in the upper campground have exceeded their useful visitor service and operational life expectancy and have been slated for replacement. MDNR-PRD is requesting replacement of the two existing toilet shower buildings that are past the useful life using the Parks and Recreation Division (PRD)
