Site work for a water / sewer project in Pickering, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Develop a detailed dyke rehabilitation of the existing Pickering and Ajax flood control dykes. The Pickering Dyke, constructed in 1985, extends for approximately 1,150 metres, and is located north of Kingston Rd extending from Brock Rd eastward to east of Notion Rd. The Ajax Dyke, constructed in 1984, extends for approximately 325 metres, and is located west of Church St South extending north from near Mill St. TIMELINE: Project is conceptual only. This Class EA project has been completed and approved. TRCA is actively seeking funding from various government partners for this next step, as of June 2026, detailed design has not begun & no construction plans have been finalized as the project remains unfunded. Further update may be available spring 2027. *The estimated cost of the proposed construction works to rehabilitate the flood dykes to maintain the current level of protection is approximately $6,200,000 for the Pickering Dyke and approximately $2,400,000 for the Ajax Dyke.
