Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; playground / park / athletic field; for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field; and municipal facility.

Upgrades to the Toronto Island Park. The Master Plan will ensure the Island Park become; a world class inclusive park; a model for resilience, environmental excellence and sustainability; an island of balanced and varied activity celebrating four seasons; an island of areas/rooms with diverse and memorable experiences; and Island Park celebrating natural and cultural heritage and indigenous placemaking; and Island oasis, carefree and protected; a park to serve all Torontorians. TIMELINE: The Master Plan is underway for the project with the Landscape Architect. A separate Request For Proposals (RFP) has been issued for public engagement and communications awarded. Through 2021 and 2022, the city of Toronto has worked closely with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, other First Nations and Indigenous communities, island and waterfront communities and businesses and people across the city to develop a Master Plan that will cement Toronto Island Park as a gathering place. The Toronto Region Conservation Authority is undertaking completion of the Toronto Island Park Flood & Erosion Mitigation Project happening concurrently with this project. Future Requests for Proposals for design and construction will be issued in 2024 pending funding.
