Site work for a municipal facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
This construction is a continuation of the Phase II of the Landfill's Cell Construction. Area 2a was completed in 2018 and these new areas are planned to allow continued operation after existing cells are filled. If new cell construction isn't completed, waste would have to be transferred offsite at significantly higher cost. As of September 9, 2022, this project is included in the Davidson County's FY 2022-23 CIP and funding is allotted for FY 2023 and FY 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
