The project consists of cured in place pipe lining of 2822 linear feet of sanitary sewer and 928 linear feet of storm sewer. It will also consist of construction of 361 linear feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer along Maplewood Avenue. Manhole replacement, reconstruction and rehabilitation will also occur throughout the project limits. Those documents can also be viewed in the office of the Bureau of Engineering, 7th Floor Municipal Building, Akron, Ohio. Plans are in accordance with the City of Akron, Construction and Material Specifications, 2008 Edition and with the City's standard construction drawings, unless otherwise noted in the plans or the bid book. Copies of these specifications and drawings may be purchased at the same location as listed above.Standard Drawings may be purchased from SE Blueprint, Inc. at a cost of $6.00. Purchases are not refundable. These documents are also available at no charge on the City of Akron website. Copies of Section 153.011 of the Ohio Revised Code can be obtained from the Ohio Department of Administrative Services. Except as provided in Section 102.07 of the City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 5% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Proposals may be held by City for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days after the date Proposals are opened for the purpose of reviewing the Proposals and investigating the qualifications of Proposers prior to awarding the Agreement. Except as provided in Section 34.09 of the City's Code of Ordinance, the Proposer to whom the Agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price for the faithful performance of the contract.
The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until Final Completion of the Project. The Director of Public Service reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities.
