Site work and paving for a road / highway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Design plans call for paving for a road / highway; and road / highway.
This project includes complete street reconstruction, ADA sidewalk and ramps of approximately 1790 feet of South 7th Street from 9th Avenue East to 15th Avenue East. This project was applied and approved for through Area 15 Regional Planning Commission (RPA 15) for the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funds, commonly known as the Surface Transportation Program (STP). The preliminary cost estimate for this project is $1,400,000 and will be 100% STBG funding. The existing pavement on South 7th has begun to fail and needs complete concrete pavement reconstruction. 7th Street is a major connector which carries approximately 1,580 vehicles per day. As of June 27, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
