Demolition, site work, paving and renovation of a civil project in Suffolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for paving for a water / sewer project.

Construction of Sanitary Sewer pump to replace the current one at Pump Station #10 The construction of a replacement sanitary sewer pump station utilizing submersible pumps and installation of approximately 100 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron sewer force main, 140 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron sanitary sewer, manholes, and appurtenances. Appurtenant work includes generator installation, demolition and abandonment of the existing pump station and pipelines, site work, drainage, grading, paving, flow control, and other miscellaneous items. The Purchasing Agent, Jay Smigie ki, is the Contract Officer for the City of Suffolk ("City") with respect to this 1FB. All questions and/or comments should be directed to him at this email address: ismigielskigsuffolkva.us . The respondents to this 1FB shall not contact, either directly or indirectly, any other employee or agent of the City regarding this IFB. Any such unauthorized contact may disqualify the bidder from the procurement. In compliance with this Invitation for Bid, and subject to all the conditions thereof, the offers, if this bid is accepted within ninety days (90) calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed, to furnish any or all of the items and/or services upon which prices are quoted, at the price set opposite each item, to be delivered at the time and place specified herein. The Bidder signing above certifies he/she has read, understands, and agrees to all terms, conditions, and requirements of this bid, and is authorized to contract on behalf of firm named. Firms requesting electronic format bid documents must provide a contact name, name of firm they represent with mailing address, and an e-mail address for receipt of electronic files. Firms requesting electronic transfer will receive an e-mail link for direct download from Michael Baker's Electronic File Transfer System. Bid documents may also be obtained in CD format from the City of Suffolk Purchasing Office for a non- refundable fee of $5.00. Payment will be accepted in the form of check made payable to "TREASURER, CITY OF SUFFOLK" only. Credit cards will not be accepted, nor will separate invoices be issued. Firms requesting direct delivery of CD of Bid Documents via US Postal Service shall also include an additional payment for a non-refundable handling fee of $5.00 per CD. Questions concerning this project must be in writing and addressed to the Contract Officer stated herein; and, must be received no later than five (5) business days preceding the date that the bids are accepted. If said work is not Substantially Complete within 270 calendar days as stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work is not Substantially Complete. If said work is not fully completed within 30 calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion as stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains incomplete. The City reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deduct liquidated damages from any outstanding amount due the Contractor. Bidders are to submit the entire Section A with their bid. Failure to do so, may result in bid being non-responsive.
