The estimated cost of construction is $1,232,000.00 The general scope of work can potentially include, but is not limited to, the construction of a new 10-foot diameter, 22-foot deep submersible type wastewater wet well with two (2) 50-HP Fairbanks Morse pumps, 7-foot by 7-foot pipe gallery, modifications to the existing wet well, approximately 2655 linear feet of 12-inch diameter sanitary sewer force main, electrical systems, new generator, fire hydrant assembly, fire hydrant relocation, bored steel casing, site work, excavation (including rock excavation if necessary), fill, base, concrete and reinforcing steel, piping, valves, pump equipment, dewatering with silt removal, cleanup, seeding, paving, all necessary bypass pumping, and all other items of work as set out in the Plans and Specifications. All necessary work, materials and every item of construction shall be in accordance with the Plans and Specifications approved by the Commission. All bids shall be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope specifying that it is a Bid for the Jones Lift Station Upgrade and Force Main Extension the date for opening of bids, and the name and address of the bidder, and his or her contractor's license number. The contractors shall make such inspection and studies of the site of the work as to familiarize themselves with all conditions to be encountered. Each bid must be accompanied by an acceptable statement of bidder's qualifications. The requirements of the bidder's statement of qualifications will be furnished to prospective bidder with the Plans and Specifications. Bidding security in the form of a bid bond, cash, a cashier's check, or certified check payable to the Springdale Water and Sewer Commission, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the total bid shall be furnished by each bidder. The amount of such deposit will be forfeited immediately to the Owner as an agreed amount of liquidated damages if the bidder to whom the contract is awarded failed to enter into contract and furnish bond within ten (10) days from and after the date the award is made. Bids must be made upon the official proposal sheets contained in the specifications, and such proposal sheets shall not be removed from the remainder of the contract documents. The attention of all bidders is called to the fact that they must be licensed under the terms of Act 150 of the 1965 Acts of the Arkansas Legislature, subject to any subsequent amendments. The Water and Sewer Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the proposal deemed to be in the best interests of the Commission.
