Demolition of existing scale deck.The contractor selected will be responsible for all demolition and removal activities for the existing scale deck. The scale deck is constructed over a pit. It should be assumed that broken up concrete and rebar will be disposed on-site with no disposal fees. The contractor will be responsible for all loading and transporting of broken up material from the scale deck location at the Hoffman Road Landfill to the location of disposal at the Hoffman Road Landfill. The cost should include all crane and rigging fees, as applicable. 2. Installation of new concrete scale deck. The contractor will be responsible for the installation of the new concrete scale deck. The replacement scale deck is required to meet the same specifications of the existing scale deck and include two manholes for access. The cost should include all labor, parts, and materials, including hydrostatic load cell positioning. During replacement relevant scale deck components should be inspected including bumper bolts, plates, and load cells. If needed, recommended repairs or replacement of these components should be estimated and proposed under separate cover.3. Upon completion the contractor will calibrate and test the new scale deck.The contractor will be responsible for calibration and testing according to HB44 requirements. Certified weights and equipment shall be used and calibration documentation provided.4. Temporary scale installation and rental.It will be required that a temporary scale be installed to maintain operations while the scale deck replacement activities are being completed. The contractor will be required to ensure that a temporary scale deck meets required specifications to maintain operations, and is installed and operational prior to implementation of scale deck replacement activities.
