Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Work in this contract generally comprises the rehabilitation of the Mill Street Bridge over the West Don River. The work includes, but is not limited to the following major items: Traffic control for the duration of construction; Protection of public, vehicular and pedestrian traffic, site personnel, existing utilities, surrounding environment and properties, etc; Installation of temporary protection system; Removal of existing asphalt and waterproofing system on bridge deck; Removal of existing hand railings and concrete end walls; Removal of existing sidewalks on bridge deck; Scarifying and removal of deteriorated concrete from deck top surface; Removal of existing deck diaphragms; Removal of existing approach slabs; Removal of ballast walls and top portion of abutment walls and wingwalls; Removal of deteriorated concrete on the existing abutment walls, wingwalls and girders; Replacement of bearings; Concrete patch repair to deck soffit, abutment walls, wingwalls and girders; Convert existing abutment walls to semi-integral abutments; Placement of concrete overlay on scarified deck; Construction of new concrete deck extensions; Construction of new approach slabs; Construction of new concrete sidewalks on deck and approach slab; Construction of new parapet walls with railings; Placement of new asphalt and waterproofing; Installing temporary flow passage system at bridge. Carrying out condition survey of channel liner, design and repair concrete channel liner (Provisional). Construction of new concrete sidewalks on grade; Modification of catch basins and manholes to match new pavement elevation; Placement of new 90 mm asphalt and waterproofing system; Construction of new curb and gutters on approaches; and Construction of new steel beam guiderails.
