Principal items of work include the demolition of existing lift station pumps, piping and control panel; installation of new pump skids; piping and control panel; installation of a new duplex lift station; approximately 670 linear feet of 8'' SDR-26 PVC sewer line; 510 linear feet of 2'' SDR-21 sewer forcemain; 520 linear feet of 4" SDR-26 PVC lateral service lines; 4 Precast Concrete Manholes; protective coating of existing concrete wet well to improve the sewer system operation for the Town of DeKalb, Mississippi. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of unit prices and quantities in the contract documents. Actual work quantities performed shall be based on availability of local funds. The work to be done is generally as shown on the plans. The Mayor and Board of Alderman hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. This project is funded by the HUD Community Development Block Grant Program and is a Section 3 covered activity as defined by the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 170lu) (Section 3). Contractors and subcontractors are encouraged to provide to the greatest extent feasible, training, employment and contracting opportunities generated by the expenditure of this assistance to low-and very-low income persons and business concerns owned by low-and very-low income persons or which employ low-and very-low income persons. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award. The Town of Dekalb reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids to waive informalities.
