Principal work for Project No. 35-25-01 includes approximately 1.0 miles of lime treatment construction and approximately 10.0 miles of soil cement base construction with topping, paving and other work by the County on various county roads. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of unit prices and quantities in the contract documents. Actual work quantities performed shall be based on availability of local funds. The work to be done is generally as shown in the documents and in accordance with SPECIFICATIONS FOR STATE AID ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION (2004 Edition) The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to Kemper County, Mississippi, must accompany each proposal as required by State Law. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award. The Board of Supervisors reserved the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids to waive informalities.
