As of June 30, 2022, project is still in the preconstruction phase and a timeline for construction has not yet been confirmed. It is expected to start construction in 2022. As of March 3, 2022, project is bidding to the Awarded JV Team. The Project is located in Siskiyou County, in the City of Yreka, on Route 3 0.4 mile north of Laura Lane to Juniper Drive and on Route 263 from Route 3 to 1.0 mile south of Long Gulch Road. The total project length is approximately 4 miles long and is primarily in an urban, main street setting. The strategy for the pavement is to reconstruct the roadway to current design standards. Aside from the pavement, ADA improvements will be the primary scope of work. Approximately 90 percent of existing sidewalk, including approximately 100 curb ramps and 130 driveway connections, will be replaced throughout the downtown corridor and actuated pedestrian signals (APS) will be installed to meet ADA standards. To accommodate the roadside improvements, drainage inlets and light poles will be relocated, and various utility covers will be adjusted to grade. Existing drainage facilities will be evaluated and replaced as necessary. Additionally, the scope includes designating bikeways with signage and pavement markings, marking county transit stops with painted curbs and signage, and upgrading bridge rails on Yreka Creek Bridge (Bridge No. 02-0151) to current standard. The estimated cost of this CMGC project (in 2024 US dollars) is $52,950,000 for construction capital and $1,482,000 for right of way capital (including utility relocation).
