As of 08/01/2019, Project has been Awarded but Award amount was not confirmed. The project consists of the removal of the existing bridge structure, excavation, erosion control, temporary sandbag cofferdam construction, temporary stream bypass, traffic control, purchasing and installing the new pre-cast bridge structure, purchase and install of guide rails and bridge deflectors, paving and line striping and other details specified in the bid package. Required permits will be obtained and provided by the township to the awarded bidder. Bidder is responsible to provide all materials associated with the bridge replacement. The in-stream work must be completed by October 1, 2019 per DEP permit requirements. Each bid submission must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount payable to South Middleton Township. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the awarded bid amount shall be submitted by the awardee after execution of the contract, as well as a Worker's Compensation Certificate. The deposits of bidders, other than the one to whom the contract is awarded will be returned after execution of the contract.This contract is subject to the following: the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act conditions for projects above $25,000; the Federal Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) conditions; the Pennsylvania Act 287 of 1974, as amended by Act 172, of 1986, as amended by Act 187 of 1996; the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act 222 conditions; the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1073; PA Act 235 of 1965, as amended, Universal Accessibility Act; and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990; and the non-discrimination in Employment/Contract Compliance Regulations Conditions.
