The project consists of furnishing the following supplies, equipment, and/or services The bids are for a single Prime Contract for installation of access control system and video surveillance system. The Installation is at a facililty under construction, and is concurrent with the work of that project. Installation of telecom cabling, electrical backboxes and pathways by others. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Work is anticipated to commence upon award of contract, and be Substantially Complete by October 15, 2019 and Final Completion by October 31, 2019, in one phase as shown on the Contract Documents. A public hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held at the Mount Vernon City Hall, at 6:30 p.m.., on the 3rd day of June, 2019, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and the estimated cost of said project. The award of the contract may be made by the City of Mount Vernon, Iowa to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
