In general, the project includes, but is not limited to: 8" gravity sanitary sewer replacement along Cobbs Ford Road and Cone Street in Prattville, AL. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check, or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price or Sl 0,000 payable without recourse to the City of Prattville, Alabama. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute perfom1ancc and payment bonds within fourteen ( 14) days after notice of award of contract to them. The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment bonds upon the fonns provided for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract pri'ce. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabmna to act as surety . This project is considered a "Public Works" project and is governed by competitive bid laws as contained in Title 39 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended. Bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, and Bond Agents should be familiar with this code. The attention of all Bidders is called to the provisions of State law goven1ing "General Contractor", as set forth in ALA.CODE 34-8-1 , et seq. The Owner reserves the right to reject aoy or all bids, to waive ir.regularities in the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner, and to reject nonconfom1ing, non-responsive, or conditional bids.
