The project consists of fabricating and installing new steel plates and steel angles to the existing bar grating. The new Steel plates will be welded to new steel angles and these steel angles will be bolted to the edge angles of the existing bar grating which will close the gap to an acceptable distance and remove the hazard and unsafe working condition. The new steel plates and steel angles will be installed on the north and south sides of the existing Service Pit inside the building. The estimated cost of this Project is between $25,000 and $100,000. A Contract Goal of 0.0% DBE participation has been established for this project. Bidders must be properly licensed under North Carolina state law to perform the work. A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $300,000.
