For Building L-10 Renovation Renovation of an existing 600 SF, concrete masonry structure. Work includes selective demolition of existing concrete floors, walls, windows, doors, roof, roof drainage, mechanical systems, and electrical. New construction includes metal stud partition walls, a new latrine, as well as new mechanical systems, power, lighting and associated plumbing. Interior finishes consist of painted gypsum wall board, ceramic tile, sealed concrete floors, and fiber reinforced panels. Exterior scope consists of an additional concrete sidewalk, new asphalt shingle roof and felt underlay, new roof sheathing as required, new doors and windows, and thin brick cladding. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to The Adjutant General, Iowa National Guard, shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with the State of Iowa and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. The State Department of Public Defense (Military Division), Iowa Army National Guard, seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in the awarding of contracts. The IAARNG is authorized to award contracts to Targeted Small Businesses under the provisions of Iowa Targeted Small Businesses Procurement Act of 1986 and the Iowa Administrative Code. The IAARNG is also authorized to establish certified Targeted Small Business participation requirements for construction contracts. It is hereby agreed that when entering into this contract with the IAARNG the General Contractor will take documented steps to encourage participation from Targeted Small Businesses for the purpose of subcontracting or supplying of materials.
