The purpose of this Notice is to advise potential Contractors that the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will be holding an INFORMATIONAL MEETING regarding the Statewide Operations Center Floor Reconfiguration Project on Tuesday, october 22, 2019 beginning at 9. 00 AM at: MDOT State Highway Administration State Operations Center (SOC) Training Room 7491 Connelley Drive Hanover, MD 21076 Contract No. AX1225586 Project: SOC Floor Reconfiguration Project Classification: F $5,000,001 to $10,000,000 This project will be a Multi-Step Competitive Sealed Bid contract to enhance the efficiency of operations in the MDOT SHA - Hal Kassoff Statewide Operations Center (SOC) located in Hanover, MD. The SOC is a 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week safety-sensitive, control and communications transportation operation facility and is the headquarters of the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART) program. The project involves a technology refresh and physical reconfiguration of the 34,000 SF, two-level SOC to enhance its efficiency. The intent of the re-design is to reconfigure the operations space to better facilitate information management and to support functionality that meets a variety of evolving demands on the 20+ year old facility, as State personnel use the tools housed there to manage the transportation infrastructure. The scope of improvements is anticipated to include, but is not limited to, demolition of existing internal walls and structures, construction of a reconfigured operation room and adjacent spaces, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, Information Technology conduits and wiring, construction of a video display wall, roofing, lighting, utility coordination and environmental permit acquisition. This project also requires the provision/commissioning of a Temporary SOC (TSOC), extensive coordination with MDOT SHA for the relocation of the existing SOC staff to the TSOC and back to the reconfigured SOC. The successful provisioning and transition to the TSOC location will be critical for maintaining the continuity of CHART Functions - No operations downtime will be permitted.
