The City of Somersworth is requesting bids for the replacement of the City Hall roof. Prospective respondents are advised to read this information over carefully prior to submitting a bid. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the attached specifications. Bidders should make themselves familiar with the following bid specifications as well as the general terms and conditions. Bids must be submitted on a lump sum basis. Bids must be submitted on the attached bid sheet, and include at least three (3) references on similar work done within the last two (2) years. Contractors must submit a listing of any subcontractors they intend to use during this project. The use of subcontractors must be approved by the City in writing before the start of the project. The City reserves to accept or reject and/or all bids determined to be in the best interest of the City. The Contractor shall conduct the following tasks: 1) Supply and utilize all required safety and staging systems for specific roof elevation and pitch 2) Remove and dispose of approximately 8,300 square feet of existing rubber roofing material down to existing insulation 3) Remove and dispose of all existing roof insulation 4) Remove and dispose of existing edge metal systems down to original blocking combinations 5) Remove or repair areas of existing wood blocking combinations to be repaired on perimeter of roof systems 6) Remove and dispose of all existing flashing and terminations at all existing roof penetrations 7) Prep and clean surfaces to receive new roofing application. 8) Supply and install one-inch wood nailers at roof edges 9) Supply and install one-inch polyisocyanurate roof insulation with fasteners applied as required by manufacturer specifications, or approved equivalent a. The City will also accept a bid alternative to install two-inch polyisocyanurate roof insulation instead of one-inch 10) Supply and install a new fully adhered 0.060 mil. Fully-adhered single ply rubber roof system, or approved equivalent, on the approximately 8,300 square foot City Hall Roof, per manufacturer specifications 11) Supply and install all required base tie-ins, terminations, fully-adhered membranes, rubber flashings, and sealants at all existing roof penetrations as per manufacturer specifications 12) Replace the existing roof hatch in-kind or with approved equivalent 13) Supply and install new drain hardware and cut off mastic sealants as per manufacturer's recommendations 14) Install new 0.32 mil aluminum edge flashing to match existing color, or approved equivalent 15) Cleanup and demobilization
