The work includes all necessary labor, materials and equipment as specified and as indicated for renovation of the existing OR central sterilization suite at University Hospital. The suite is comprised of a decontamination room and a sterile preparation and packaging room. The suite will be expanded into adjacent existing spaces and a new anteroom will be added to the decontamination side of the suite. The work includes demolition and construction of interior walls; new floor, wall and ceiling finishes; new doors; new casework and counters; modifications to HVAC ductwork; replacement of existing mechanical equipment; re-location and addition of electrical outlets, power supplies and lighting; domestic and RO water piping, DWV piping, compressed air and medical gas lines; installation of owner-provided equipment; and furnishing and installation of all other contractor-provided equipment. There is no pre-bid conference or walk-thru. The site will not be made available for inspection before bids are due All work on this Contract is to be completed within 30 calendar days, after all final approvals, which may include approvals of the New York State Attorney General and the Office of the State Comptroller. Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined free of charge at the campus and at: SUNY Upstate, Contracts & Campus Purchasing, 650 South Salina Street, 2nd Floor, Syracuse, NY 13202 Bids must be submitted as three (3) complete packages, which must have original signatures on the forms provided by the University, in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. All work on this Contract is to be completed within 180 calendar days, after all final approvals, which may include approvals of the New York State Attorney General and the Office of the State Comptroller. The selected contractor must comply with M/WBE goals. State University of New York goals are: : 21%MBE and 9% WBE participation of the total contract value. A goal of 6% SDVOB participation has also been established for this construction contract. State University of New York also has a goal for the Work Force participation: EEO 10% WBE and EEO 10% MBE of total work force on the project.
