The Southeast Gateway Line is a new light rail transit (LRT) line that will connect southeast LA County to downtown Los Angeles. Plans include a new light rail transit (LRT) line to southeast LA County. This project will connect Artesia, Cerritos, Bellflower, Paramount, Downey, South Gate, Cudahy, Bell, Huntington Park, Vernon, unincorporated Florence-Firestone and downtown Los Angeles. The Southeast Gateway Line is a light rail line stretching 14.5 miles from the Slauson/ A (Blue) Line Station to the City of Artesia. As of December 23, 2024, the West Santa Ana Branch is now known as the Southeast Gateway Line. LA Metro was awarded $231 million for this project. This project also received CEQA certification approving 14.5 miles of new light rail from the Slauson/A Line to Artesia, with nine new stations, five parking facilities, and a maintenance facility in Bellflower.
