Lincolns Tomb is a National Historic Landmark located within Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. This project includes granite repairs, cleaning, and repointing; replacement of the fluid applied roofing system at the South Deck and copper roofing replacements. DESCRIPTION: Lincolns Tomb is a National Historic Landmark located within Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. This project includes granite repairs, cleaning, and repointing; replacement of the fluid applied roofing system at the South Deck and copper roofing replacements. The tomb consists of a ground level interior chamber and gallery, covered by an upper deck viewing platform with intermediate north and south decks. The upper deck is accessed by two exterior stairs where visitors circumambulate a central obelisk with sculptures atop corner drums. This project includes select granite repairs; full repointing; resealing of skyward joints and doors; replacement of the fluid applied protected membrane roofing system with disassembly and reinstallation of the existing pavers on new pedestals at the south deck roof; replacement of the obelisk cap, replacement of the obelisk base roof, flashing, and gutters; replacement of southwest drum roof flashing and gutter; and replacement of the single step between the upper deck and the north and south decks.
