Stage four (4) of the Mountview Clean Water Treatment Plant (CWP) closure and expansion of the Golden Pheasant CWP in Huntsville. Mountview Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) and forcemain between Mountview SPS and Golden Pheasant CWP. This project (stage 4) combined with Stages 1, 2 and 3 will bring to completion the 1989 and 2014 Preferred Solution. Mountview Wastewater Treatment Plant will be decommissioned and demolished shortly after the completion of Stages 1-4. Stage 4 combines the two elements necessary to convey effluent to the Golden Pheasant CWP - a new SPS and a forcemain between the two sites. The main components of the SPS scope are: construction of an in-ground wet well complete with submersible pumps; construction of an above ground building to house electrical, communication and environmental equipment; and installation of an outdoor standby generator. The main components of the forcemain scope are: open trench installation of 400mm OD pipe through residential streets; re-purposing of the existing Golden Pheasant CWP outfall pipe via trenchless pipe installation. The advantage of using this technology is that it is less invasive, disruptive, cost efficient and environmentally cleaner than conventional open trench installation; termination of the forcemain at the Golden Pheasant CWP; and abandonment of the existing Golden Pheasant CWP outfall diffuser located in the Muskoka River.
