Description

Site work for a transportation facility in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Working plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

Completion of civil infrastructure improvements at the Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport. The project will include but is not limited to widening runway safety areas and taxiway embankments to provide protection of the permafrost regime below the airport surface structures and to address current exemptions to regulatory requirements, select surface paving and repairs and establishment/reestablishment of proper drainage channels to address the new climatic norms and changes in hydrology of the area. Work is expected to be focused on the following infrastructure: Taxiway C, Runway Safety Areas, Site drainage, Taxiway D and Culvert in Taxiway D. TIMELINE: The proposed civil infrastructure improvements at Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport is generally complete. Taxiway C and Taxiway D asphalt paving work planned for 2028. The runway extension project is also underway; currently scheduled for completion in 2029.
